Operax, the leading vendor of dynamic Resource and Admission Control solutions for IP service quality, today announces the appointment of Jan Astrom as VP Engineering and Development. Jan further strengthens Operax’s leadership team; he will focus on enhancing the quality and value of Operax’s range of products, and developing the resources and processes necessary for their delivery.
With more than 20 years of experience in software development and operations for Service Providers. Jan brings extensive experience of enhancing output, quality and business value of real-time multi-service applications from best-of-breed companies in the telecommunications and IT industry. Prior to joining Operax, Jan was with Genesys Conferencing for 10 years, holding director positions in both the R&D and Operations Divisions for complex integrated multimedia IP systems encompassing voice and video. Bringing extensive commercial cross-functional experience of Service Provider and end-user requirements, he was a major contributor to growing the successful conferencing company to more than 1200 employees. Prior to Genesys, Jan worked with the Swedish Ministry of Defense Telecommunications network where he was responsible for the planning, expansion and maintenance of their networks.
