Stockholm, 19 November, 2007

Operax, the leading vendor of solutions for dynamic Resource and Admission Control, today announces it has signed a new Maintenance and Support Agreement with the Royal Netherlands Army (RNLA) for its tactical communications network; this follows the contract to extend the system with new licences for Operax Resource Manager announced in June 2007.

In operational deployment for more than three years, Operax Resource Manager controls and manages available voice and data capacity in the RNLA’s TITAAN (Theatre Independent Tactical Army and Airforce Network). TITAAN is a central system in the RNLA’s migration to Network Centric Warfare (NCW), with focus on making information available to all troops in real time over an all-IP network. This agreement provides the RNLA with the full range of Operax Professional Services, including systems integration, training and on-going systems design.

Lt. Colonel Andre Poot, of the RNLA’s C2 Support Center, commented: “TITAAN is one of the most advanced communication systems for Network Centric Warfare and as it grows, we will need a partner not only for support, but also for future development. Operax has shown ability and responsiveness in our earlier support agreement; they have in-depth knowledge in managing resources and capacity allocations, so we are very confident we will continue to get high quality service and support.”

A key ingredient in the transformation of defense organizations towards NCW is the emphasis on collaboration and tactical decisions. This calls for communications networks enabling real-time access to information and uninterrupted communication capabilities. By implementing standards-based IP communications systems, defense organizations are able to adapt their communications network to evolving needs and simultaneous operations on multiple operational environments.

Jeremy Deaner, General Manager EMEA & APAC at Operax, commented: “A key part of our strategy is the ongoing delivery of high quality support and maintenance service to our growing customer base. It is with great pride that the relationship with RNLA continues to be a positive endorsement of this approach.”
